Common tariff for cross-border bus- and railway connections. (since 2010)
The tariff- and salessystem of the ÖPNV-distributors in the area Euregio-Maas-Rhein (EMR) distinguish themself until today, because of different reasons and historical progresses, clearly from each other. This decreases on the one hand the attractivity of existing cross-border bus- and trainlines and aggravates on the other hand the development of new proposals.
Together with the consulting engineers IVV Aachen, stellwerk acquires an integrated, modular tariff- and distribution concept for all cross-border relations in the EMR, which includes tickets for all customergroups as well as the consistent usage of bus and train.
RoCK – Regions of Connected Knowledge
(2007-2009)
After the successful presentation of a business case study for the improvement of the connection between the dutch technology region Eindhoven and the german hispeed train network, two connections appeared to be of interest (the intercity Eindhoven - Heerlen - Aachen and Eindhoven - Venlo - Düsseldorf).
Both projects were elaborated by stellwerk and submitted under the name of RoCK as a Interreg IV-B project. This project is not only concerend with technical feasibility, but also about integrated ticketing and marketing. The connection Hasselt - Maastricht is also a part of the RoCK project.
The application was submitted at the end of 2008 and was approved in the first round by the Interreg secretariat. stellwerk was also charged with the projectmanagement of the IC part Eindhoven - Heerlen - Aachen.
Besides the regional authorities and towns on both sides of the border, the transport enterprises VEOLIA, NS, DB and ProRail are also closely involved in this project.
New trainstations for Landgraaf (since 2010) and Sittard-Geleen (2011)
The regional and cross-border rail traffic in the netherlands Limburg has, after a (fractional) devolution of the federal authorities at the province, a clear boost experienced. Because, of the already 2008 opening of two new stations in the cross-border-traffic - also acoompanied by stellwerk - the infastructure should be enlarged in the next years.
Two new projects are, the new construction of the station Landgraaf at a central station in the city as multimodale conjunction point, and the building of a further flag stop in Sittard-Geleen.
stellwerk has hereby got the job of the particular communities, to work out the implication of planning and the financial principals as well as bringing the topic to the agenda of the responsible agency and infrastructure carriers, and even brought first architectural concepts to integrate in the urban environment and therefore a resilient basis for grounding the project.
